Both of these gallery members present images that reflect the natural energy and elegance seen on the Peninsula. Ken Dvorak captures these views in his photographs while Carol Janda reveals them in her paintings and pottery. Meet the artists and their works on First Friday, May 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Blue Whole Gallery. Or visit the Gallery to see their display throughout the month.
Ken Dvorak, is a self-taught "fine art nature photographer" who started taking images back in the late 1960's when he was in the Navy, stationed in Newport, R.I. Later Ken continued photography while in Salinas, California and living close to where Ansel Adam and other famous photographers plied their craft. Such examples led Ken to follow their footsteps. The following photo images taken by Ken show these influences.

Ken follows one of Ansel Adam directives that photos are "made not taken". He takes an image and with the help of a computer turns it into something he imagined when he clicked the shutter. The results are beautiful and dramatic.
Ken Dvorak photographic exhibit is entitled "Black and White Review" capturing images of scenes and views that are the natural elements found on the Olympic Peninsula. Take advantage of Ken's abilities and enjoy his special view of this area by visiting the Blue Whole Gallery on First Friday May 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. where the artist will be present along with his works.
